Singani in Bolivia is a traditional alcohol produced by fermenting grapes and then distilling it which results in a liquor around 40% alcohol. It has a very light fruit flavor and is very cheap.
A lot of people drink it straight and is fairly smooth. It can be mixed with soft drink or fruit juice with varying results.
A typical Bolivian cocktail called a Chuflay can be made by adding ginger ale or sprite to a shot of singani. It is often garnished with a slice of lime. I would recommend trying one and if you like it buy more. I made the mistake of ordering 2 for 1 and then had to drink them both.
Singani in Bolivia is available from all supermarkets, liquor stores and many convenience stores. It costs between 40 – 140bs for a 1L bottle.
